ITS Coalition
Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) encompass a broad range of electronic and wireless communications-based information and control technologies. Field devices, such as cameras, sensors and message signs work with software programs to monitor and manage traffic flow, reduce congestion, provide traveler information, enhance efficiency and increase safety.
The North Florida ITS Coalition was formed in 2003 with over 100 members from public and private sectors encompassing traffic, transportation, public safety, municipal services, commerce, military and special events. Coalition members work together to plan, coordinate, obtain funding and implement ITS projects to ensure seamless and cost-effective integration across the region.
